How to Fix Missing Adobelinguistic.dll Error

Adobelinguistic.dll is a required file for Adobe Photoshop Elements 6, an application from Adobe Systems Incorporated. If you use Photoshop, you will need this dll.  However, if you do not have Photoshop installed anymore or if you no longer use the program, you may choose not to download.

When adobelinguistic.dll is missing or corrupt, an error message like the one below will be displayed on your screen:

Missing Adobelinguistic.dll Error

You may also get “dll not found” or “bad image” when you startup or shutdown Windows.

The error message you receive may also tell you that the application failed to start or that Adobelinguistic.dll was not found.

A missing adobelinguistic.dll is fairly easy to fix. The adobelinguistic dll file is free to download from many sites on the internet. However, some sites ask users to pay via PayPal before being able to download the needed dll. This is unnecessary as the file can be found at various other sites for free.

The majority of dll files can be found in C:\Windows\System32\ for Windows 98 and XP and C:\WINNT\System\ and C:\WINNT\System32\ for Windows 2000. However, application specific dlls should go in the folder of the specific application it is used for.

Do not overwrite files if you are unsure of where a dll should go.

How to Fix Missing Adobelinguistic.dll

  1. Download adobelinguistic.dll.
  2. Save a copy to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe InDesign CS3\
  3. Go to Start and then to Run.
  4. Enter cmd.
  5. Enter regsvr32 adobelinguistic.dll
  6. Click OK.

Exercise caution when downloading files from the internet. Make sure that you are protected in real time by dependable antivirus and anti-spyware programs. There are many dodgy sites that allow users to download certain files for free; the catch is, instead of a valid dll file, users get a virus or Trojan instead.  So, be sure to note the version number and file size of the adobelinguistic.dll that you are downloading.
